Who Are We ?

Co.Mission is born out of a deep desire to proclaim the message of the Christian faith and make it realized by assisting churches to go make disciples at home and abroad by meeting the spiritual and physical needs of all peoples for their joy in the greatness of God through Jesus Christ.

We are the fruit of transformed hearts and of a growing awareness of the deep love of God manifested in Christ and his grace for us. We have been compelled to formalize through Co.Mission what God has already been doing in our lives: to support, care and bless those in need. Co.Mission's  goal is to partner with local churches, primarily in Calgary, but also in Alberta and Canada, that share the same passion to proclaim the joy in God through Jesus Christ by proclaiming the Gospel, serving and lending a hand to our neighbours in need and extending support to established missionary organizations in Portuguese speaking countries.

Our Goal

Co.Mission aims to bridge the gap between the mission field and church by equipping and encouraging the people of God to work in the mission of God at home and abroad.

Why Mission?

“Oh to behold the Glory of Christ! Here in would I live, here in would I die, here in would I dwell in my thoughts and my affections until all things here below become as dead and deformed things, and in no longer, any way, calling out for my affections.” - John Owen

Mission is at the heart of God. He called us and gave us a new heart, and therefore, He called us to his mission. Understanding this is the beginning of mission. If we don’t get this right, we get mission wrong. Let’s look at 2 Corinthians 5 verse 18:

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come. All this is from God who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation."

"Transformation precedes and leads to mission". Matt Chandler

We need a new heart in order to live in mission; nonetheless, we do mission because this is our new God-given nature.
